Why Use them?
This kit includes sockets to upgrade your Commodore 64 Breadbin computer to a fully socketed motherboard. Socket style may vary from photo.
IC sockets provide many advantages in IC design, assembly, test, upgrade, and
maintenance. Some very early C64 motherboards had full socket sets but slowly these were removed as a cost saving measure.
Some revisions require a different socket set. Compare your motherboard to the photo listed here. Custom sets are available by request.
